Network Design Engineer

These positions require a TS/SCI clearance with a Full Scope Lifestyle Polygraph.

Position is for an Experienced Network Design Engineer.   Location Herndon, Virginia  20170.

Responsibilities include:

  • Network Design / Architecture experience a must.
  • CCNA and or CCNP preferred.
  • Determine user requirements and design specifications for computer networks.
  • Plan and implement network upgrades.
  • Will assist in the design and implementation of LAN/WANs using switch and router Technology.
  • Performs hardware/software analysis to provide comparative data of performance characteristics and suitability within the existing systems environment.
  • Prepare trade-off studies and evaluations for vendor equipment. Assists in generating network monitoring and performance reports for LAN/WAN utilization studies.
  • Recommends network design changes/enhancements for improved systems availability and performance.
  • Hands-on experience desired
  • Must have detailed knowledge of IP / ATM / SONET network systems engineering practices.
  • Knowledge includes demonstrated capability in at least one primary network element, such as operating systems, platform or protocols.

Senior Network Engineer

These positions require a TS/SCI clearance with a Full Scope Lifestyle Polygraph.

Position is for an Experienced O&M Network Engineer. This position also requires 24x7 O&M pager.  Position requires up to 10% travel.  The overarching security requirements for the customer network add to the complexity of these positions.

Responsibilities include:

  • Install, configure, and support an organization's local area network (LAN), wide area network (WAN), customer networks, Intranet and Internet and other data communications systems or a segment of a network system.
  • Maintain network hardware and software
  • Monitor network to ensure network availability to all system users and perform necessary maintenance to support network availability.
  • May supervise other network support and client server specialists and plan, coordinate, and implement network security measures.
  • Oversee network control center.
  • Provide support to projects that involve networks.
  • Perform a full range of complex network designs encompassing multiple technologies within a single network.
  • Evaluate new network technologies and make recommendations to project managers regarding the integration of these technologies into the existing network.
  • Plan new configurations for integration into the network, using knowledge of the performance characteristics of the systems being added to the network and the specifications for network interfaces to insure effective integration and optimal network performance.
  • Ensure that adequate and appropriate planning is provided for hardware and communications facilities to develop and implement methodologies for analysis, installation and support of voice communications systems.
  • Provide support in the translation of business requirements into telecommunications (e.g., LAN, MAN, WAN, Voice and Video) requirements, designs and orders.

 

Project Manager

This position requires a current TS/SCI Clearance with a Full Scope / Lifestyle Polygraph.

Experienced Project manager, with the ability to handle all elements of large projects, including Scope, Cost, and Schedule.

Responsible for managing major projects from inception to operation, and ultimately responsible for the project’s success. Must follow policies and procedures, work within the scope of the project, and adhere to time and cost constraints. Should be able to determine the scope of the project and develop the Project Execution Package and the Project Definition with the customer and other internal organizations. Should be able to make recommendations to decision support or escalate to management as necessary.

Coursework in project management toward PM Professional Certification is preferred. Should be an energetic self-starter. Should possess excellent interpersonal skills. Should be comfortable before an audience of peers and seniors. Should possess excellent verbal and written communication skills. Must be strong in leading teams and being part of a greater team.

 

Telecommunications Specialist

This position requires a current TS/SCI Clearance with a Full Scope / Lifestyle Polygraph.

Focuses on the interaction between computer and communications equipment.

  • Multiple positions available for special project to recap 12,000 workstations over 12 month period.
  • Job will actually be performed in various locations in the Northern Virginia area
  • Must be able to lift 50lbs
  • Candidate must be proactive and take initiative.

General position description for organization:

Designs voice, video, graphics, data communication and Internet systems. Supervises the installation of the systems, including radio transmitters and receivers, and provides maintenance and other services to clients after the systems are installed.

  • Design, develop, test, and supervise the development, production and operation of electronic equipment such as broadcast and communications systems, and radios.
  • Define requirements, including transmission capacity planning, in areas such as communications, signal processing, and control systems
  • Monitor technology (VoIP) development and make appropriate recommendations to achieve efficiency
  • Enable telephone service via wires and cables that connect customers' premises to central offices maintained by telecommunications companies.
  • Install, repair, and maintain telephone equipment, cables and access lines, and telecommunications systems, including radios
  • Assemble equipment and install wiring.
  • Help customers understand the new and varied types of services offered by telecommunications providers.
  • Install and maintain radio transmitting and receiving equipment, including stationary equipment mounted on transmission towers and mobile equipment, such as radio communications systems in service and emergency vehicles.

 

Video/Audio Engineer

This position requires a current TS/SCI Clearance with a Full Scope / Lifestyle Polygraph.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide support for all hardware and software for Video Teleconferencing sites, including room-based VTC systems and desktop VTC units.  Additionally, support would be required for basic network operations and Voice over IP phone systems.
  • Provide various levels of maintenance and engineering for Video/Audio production in support of high-level customers and provide hardware and software administration Audio/Video systems and equipment.  

Requirements:

  • In-depth knowledge of Video/Audio production equipment to include: CODEC’s, cameras, monitors, mixers, and various types of recording equipment. 
  • Working knowledge of network equipment to include: routers, switches, and video/audio patch/routing equipment.  Must possess MS Windows desktop applications skills as well as strong written and aural communications skills.
  • Working knowledge of Polycom and Tandberg room-based and/or desktop VTC equipment desired. 
  • Experience with AMX & AMX programming
  • Crestron programming experience
  • Familiar with installation standards in video environment

 

Project Manager

Experience managing hardware implementations and/or software development. Candidates must have at least an active SECRET CLEARANCE. Location  Ft Meade MD.

Job Description:
Project Officer / Project Manager / Customer Liaison; provide support to the Defense Information Systems Agency to define requirements, acquisition strategies, implementation schedules, and provide project management in support of current and new Program Office customer requirements.

Requirements:

  • Information Technology project planning (hardware implementations and/or software development); healthcare background / DOD experience a plus.
  • Bachelors degree and 12 years experience, or Masters Degree and 10 years experience
  • Program Management Institute PMP certification preferred
  • Program and Project Management (use of Microsoft Project)  planning and scheduling implementation efforts  controlling execution activities
  • Experienced project management skills with a documented record of success
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
